Live Internet Broadcasts of Grambling State University Football

GRAMBLING, LA...September 4, 2009 --- Grambling State University (GSU), has been a college football powerhouse and icon for many years. GSU is famous for having been led by the legendary Coach Eddie Robinson, who coached at GSU for fifty-six years, and holds the record for most wins (408) of any coach in Division I-AA. This season, GSU continues to build upon their great football tradition by broadcasting all of their home football games live over the Internet through GSU’s new GSU-TV online broadcasting network.

In partnership with Network Foundation Technologies (NiFTy), which pioneered the “FREE-for-View” live Internet broadcast model using its patented NiFTyTV Online Player product, GSU-TV went from a Closed Circuit TV, campus-only offering last year, to a full online service, globally available 24/7, entirely free to the end-user viewer.

“GSU is the first university within our home state of Louisiana to realize the value and demand for their content and offer it online,” said Marcus Morton, NFT’s President and co-founder. “We believe other universities, both in-state and nationally, will follow in their pioneering footsteps.”

The GSU-TV Online Player will feature a variety of live content, from sports to performing arts programs. Content is also available for later Video On Demand viewing, allowing maximum flexibility to the viewer who may not be available to watch during the live event, or wishes to see the program again. Viewers can download the GSU-TV player at NiFTyTV.com/GSUTV. The first home game for GSU will be on September 12th, 6pm CT, against conference rival Northwestern State.
