Watch the Captains Online in ’09
Club and NiFTyTV partner to show free live streaming video of games
Shreveport, LA. March 27, 2009 – Can’t make it to Fair Grounds Field or the Captains road games this year? Live out of town and don’t want to miss any of the action? Well the Captains have you covered. Starting with the season opener on May 14 and lasting through any postseason games, all Shreveport-Bossier home games will be streamed online, free of charge, by the online broadcasting service NiFTyTV. Select road games will also be broadcast, with exact stadiums to be determined and announced at a later date.
The video will be simulcast with the Captains’ radio broadcast during innings, and will be displayed within a customized Captains player that can be downloaded from either the Captains’ Web site at sbcaptains.com or NiFTyTV’s Web site at niftytv.com.
“This is just another step towards giving our fans the top-quality, professional game coverage that they deserve,” Captains VP/General Manager Craig Brasfield said. “Between the games themselves, our radio deal, and our partnership with NiFTyTV, you will be able to follow the Captains all season long.”
“We are very pleased to have the Captains join our broadcast network,” said Michael Chin, COO of Network Foundation Technologies, the company that produces NiFTyTV. “They join the Mudbugs of the CHL, and the BattleWings of the af2 in Shreveport-Bossier, meaning that fans can now enjoy live and free broadcasts of all the sports teams in the city.” The CHL (Central Hockey League) and af2 (arenafootball2) are also broadcast on NiFTyTV.
The Captains’ radio coverage agreement will be announced in the coming weeks, along with a full promotional calendar and in-depth player previews.
The Shreveport-Bossier Captains open the 2009 season in Pensacola on May 14, and will be on the road for the first series of their 2009 campaign. The Shreveport-Bossier Captains’ first game at Fair Grounds Field will be on May 19 against Grand Prairie.
