Grambling State University First Live Internet Broadcast of Tigers Football Game
GRAMBLING, LA...September 17, 2009--- Last Saturday’s game between Grambling State University (GSU), and conference rival Northwestern State University (NSU), was broadcast live on the Internet through GSU’s 'GSU-TV' online broadcasting network.
This was the first live online broadcast of any GSU game, which saw the GSU Tigers defeat the NSU Demons 38-17, for their 500th football victory overall. The broadcast attracted online viewers from over 30 states and other countries, including Germany and the Bahamas. Two-thirds of the viewers were outside of GSU’s home state of Louisiana.
In partnership with Network Foundation Technologies (NiFTy), which pioneered the 'FREE-for-View' live Internet broadcast model using its patented NiFTyTV Online Player product, GSU-TV is a globally available, 24/7 broadcast service, showcasing GSU produced content and events, from sports to performing arts.
GSU fully intends to broadcast their home football games live on GSU-TV this season. The next home game is October 10th against Alabama A&M. Viewers can download the GSU-TV player at NiFTyTV.com/GSUTV
